So its official we have our very own photography group! My fellow photographer Bridget and I started our own group, its for all levels of photographers. So a while ago I posted a blog about my very first Boudoir session and well...I totally fibbed! LOL This is my near and very dear friend Christina, she was actually my very first Boudoir session. This was done before I even decided that boudoir was what I wanted to specialize in. I had almost forgot all about these images since it has been so long but Im glad I remembered! It reminds me of why I started this whole thing in the first place, how my style started out, how its changed and how I would like to change more. The ever evolving photographer. Sacramento Newborn Photography Shoot

So my wonderful long time friend Torrie had her baby! Little Jessa graced us with her presence two days early :) I have known Torrie since I was 5yrs old! I am so very happy for her and her family, this new bundle of joy is very much loved. We have had one session so far, Jessa had decided she did not want to sleep that day but instead eat and sleep on mom...but only mom! LOL Needless to say I will be going back to visit her but we did capture a few great shots despite the sleeplessness. She is just adorable and I cant wait to visit her again and capture more great images!

Preparing for you Boudoir Session

Preparing for your upcoming boudoir session can and should be a fun experience. You should start out by talking either in person or over the phone with your selected photographer about the type of images your looking for. Once you have decided on the style your looking for then its time to shop! I mean who doesnt like to shop, right?! ;) Being comfortable and feeling sexy should be your priority. Every woman is different so we suggest that you think about what makes you feel sexy. Some ideas might be...a silk nightshirt, jeans and a bra, boy-shorts, sports jerseys, your mans work outfit, or nothing at all. Adding accessories such as jewelry, gloves, hats, ties and lots lots of heels! Being creative and personal is very important. Outfits that we have found to be very flattering are...push-up bras, corsets and boy-shorts. Size is also very important, it is best if your outfits don't hug too tight or create any extra lines on your body, this is common with thigh highs because they need to be tight to stay up, we suggest the ones that are held up with a garter belt (plus they add a litttle sass). It is best to bring a few options so your shoot will have lots of variety. Rule of thumb...bring to much that way you and your photographer will have a good variety to choose from. You should also be on top of grooming, this is very important. Shaving, waxing and having your hair color retouched are all things to think about before your shoot. I also recommend not spray tanning for the first time before your shoot, it typically turns out orange and does not look natural. If you normally tan then its best to keep up with it. It is also super important to get good sleep the night before and make sure you eat before your shoot as well, don't starve yourself, if you dont feel good during your shoot you wont shine!

Le Rivage Hotel Boudoir Shoot

I had so much fun shooting at the Le Rivage hotel. Tina was doing boudoir images for her boyfriend Jeremy's birthday. This was my first time shooting at the Le Rivage but it was a great setting, from the lobby to the rooms, the hotel is just exquisite. Tina and I arrived around 1pm to be greeting by the awesome Jenifer Haupt from www.Imakebeautiful.com .Tina's hair and makeup looked great and we were ready to roll! After the hotel room images we headed down to a old road I know of called dyers lane to shoot Tina on Jeremy's car...that was fun! We had a few vehicle interruptions but not many and the images came out great. Got to love natural light! Below are a few of my favorite images from Tina's boudoir shoot. Cant wait to go back to the Le Rivage.
